Pike Place Market Wedding

Marisha & Blake had an intimate wedding full of joy, laughter and tears! We had so much fun taking their wedding photos in Pike Place Market. I loved roaming around in the market, hitting all my old stomping grounds. Before I became a wedding photographer in Seattle, I worked at a bakery in Pike Place. I absolutely loved that job! I still dream about it….it was such a wonderful time. As much as I loved my bakery job….I love being a wedding photographer way way more!!

Siblings....am I right?

I’ve been taking these kid’s family photos since they were wee little things. They live out on Orcas Island, Mike and I travel out there every year to photograph their family…..it is truly one of the best things about being a family photographer …is documenting families as they grow. It was never my dream to get into family photography in Seattle or San Juan Islands or anywhere in Washington….but now that I have been doing it for all of these years….I truly miss photographing these families on a regular basis when I don’t get the chance to. Kids grow up so fast! It’s such a privilege to be a part of it….no matter how small a part of it you are. These siblings are so hilarious!! I love them!!

Spring Wedding at Georgetown Ballroom

Congratulations Virginia & Doug!! They were married at the Georgetown Ballroom in Seattle. The very venue that Michael and I were married at in 2010….almost 13 years ago. We have so many amazing memories there. I am so grateful to be a wedding photographer in Seattle. I just never get sick of it :)

Cocktail week at Rob Roy

It was a blast to photograph a Hendrick’s Gin event downtown Seattle at Rob Roy. The event was for Seattle’s Cocktail Week. Who knew a corporate event could be so fun! We love working with Hendrick’s Gin. Enjoy!

Zigler's Beach Rainbow

Abrah & Alex are a couple of our best friends who never had a wedding. So for their 14th wedding anniversary Abrah decided to break down and just buy a wedding dress. We headed out to the Oregon Coast hoping for good weather….the whole week we stayed there it poured rain. Until this magical day! There was a full rainbow all day long. Just for them. They earned it :)

Taz & Matt's Anniversary Light Party

There two. Our next door neighbors. Fellow dog parents, creative collabs, adventure seekers, blacklight dancers, life of the partiers, ride or die-ers and our forever buds. Haven’t gotten sick of these two yet….and that’s saying something. Happy belated anniversary….to two of my favorite humans.

First-look prank on the groom!

The groom gets a first-look prank pulled on him when his best man / cousin dresses up in a wedding dress pretending to be the bride during their bride and groom first-look! This is such a hilarious idea. The best man bought a wedding dress second hand and planned out this prank far in advance. When the groom saw his best man dressed in a wedding dress he just died laughing! Such a great way to take the edge off on your wedding day morning LOL

Seattle - Rain on your wedding day

Ivette & Benji had a beautiful fall wedding in 2021. The major challenge of the day was the rainstorm pouring down all DAY LOOONG!! My key advice to a couple getting married in the PNW in general is just roll with the punches, when it comes to the weather. Adapt, adapt, adapt. And learn to dance in the rain! We had such a blast with these two because they were completely focused on each other, the moment, make the most of every moment and their commitment that they were making to each other that day. So remember to just have fun with the weather.

Jump in, the water is fine! Oregon Coast Wedding

Kat & Brady had the sweetest fall wedding in 2021 on the Oregon Coast. We took their photos at Seal Rock, Cape Perpetua and Devil’s Churn. It was such a blast!

20th Anniversary Series // Glacier National Park // Casciana & Daniel 2017

Oh man, this takes me back to Glacier National Park going over all this footage. I'd like to go back there right now, and be with these two people all over again. Daniel and Casciana actually live in New York, so that would take some planning. I feel so grateful to have had the privilege to photograph this incredible wedding in Montana. With some really phenomenal people.

20th Anniversary Series // Japan // Beni & Kota 2008

Anytime you have to fly across the world for a wedding, most likely it's going to be a memorable one. Wonderful day.. full of laughter and sweet sentiment. This family really took me in and made me one of their own while I was there. I got to go to all the family dinners and the late night chats over sake. The wedding day started out with Grandma showing me her wedding photo, and telling me a bit about her day. I don't speak Japanese, but I can get the gist of what she was telling me. She was a sweet little lady....man, I just want to go back.

20th Anniversary Series // Sabrina & Dallas // Vancouver Island, BC 2011

Dallas and Sabrina are two very close friends, who are fellow wedding photographers. Since their wedding in 2011 they have become world renown for their destination wedding portraiture. We are so proud of our wonderful Canadian pals. Their wedding was so quaint, thoughtful, calming and fun. I will never forget it.

This month of December 2020 is my 20 year anniversary photographing weddings. So I’ve been doing a count down on Instagram of 20 of the most memorable weddings in the last 20 years…..mostly the last 13….since I’ve been a full time photographer. Follow us on Instagram to check it out @frenchsessaphotoco. I will be posting a few on this blog as well. Enjoy.

20th Anniversary Series // Roche Harbor // San Juan Island // 2010

Happy 10th Anniversary Brandon & Melissa!!

10 years in the making….these two are some of our best friends in the world. Our wedding was almost 2 months to the day before theirs’s….we shared in all the wedding planning, we were dating and engaged together. Brandon & Michael actually lived next door to each other during the process. We were there at Melissa’s welcome to the USA party when she moved from Ireland….. Brandon & Melissa were there to help plan out how Michael was going propose to me….and Brandon & Melissa were there when I said “yes”…they documented the moment when I met my father in-law for the first time….and they were some of the only people at the funeral when he died. We’ve been through a lot together, and I am beyond proud of these two….as people, as partners and as creatives. They have taught us so much. They have lived such an incredible life together, already. Traveling the world together, working creative jobs together…they are so bonded. When your dear friends have such a solid and inspiring relationship…it gives you a feeling of security and comfort. They live in New York now….and we were only able to celebrate our decade anniversaries over zoom this year….but I have big plans for next year. Love you guys!

My first time photographing a birth

Our night took an unexpected turn at 1 a.m.. Two of our favorite clients brought a new life into this world. We are all better for it because it is rare to find two parents that are more kind, thoughtful, considerate and empathetic than these two. It was one of the most beautiful and important moments I have ever photographed in my life. It was truly an honor to be in the room... Documenting the beginning of a new life. I will cherish this day, and this privilege for the rest of my life. .

Desert Folk

Jaisalmer, Thar Desert - India

I don't know if you know this about me, but my favorite animal in the world is the camel. I don't care what type of camel, just all the camels... All the different types of camels. I had dreamed since my childhood of going on a journey through the desert on the back of a camel. In 2015, that sweet dream came true. It wasn't as fun for Mike because he was violently nauseous the entire trip out into the desert, and spewed his guts out once he got there. He smiled and pretended like he wasn't sick for the benefit of my joy.  And as for my friend Abrah (pictured looking grumpy lol), who was partially raised in Kuwait..... She sees camels as I would see a common deer in the woods of Oregon..... She found the whole experience to be quite a bore, and when it came to the rolling sand dunes of the Thar Desert on the border of Pakistan....she said..and I quote in a very nonchalant way "I've seen better". It's funny when you think about it, things that you would find to be the most epic experiences of your life ..someone else would find them very mediocre.  I love traveling with friends. No matter what you go through together.. you are bonded for life from your experiences..
